I haven’t posted anything in a bit as I’ve been concentrating on creating my “Thoughts for a Fortnight” video blog series. If you are interested they can be found here (https://youtu.be/FZEXNQwbuXg, https://youtu.be/E6FVOAzxhow).
Last week I had a conversation with someone about their ‘hopes’ for 2018 which gave me pause. When Pandora opened her box (originally it was a jar) and released evils into the world she managed to retain hope. But hope is a thin thing. Hope needs definition.
Your hopes for 2018, whether they center on ‘a better year than 2017’ or ‘as good a year as 2017’ need to be defined so a strategy and set of tactics can be developed around that hope. For example, let’s say you ‘hope 2018 is a better year than 2017’. What would make it a better year? List those things out. Then ask yourself, what do I need to do for that to occur. What can I do this week to work on that?
I suggest if you have ‘hopes for 2018’ contact one of your advisors (this could very well be a friend, spouse, child or a professional advisor) and tell them you would like to talk about your hopes for 2018 and how they can become a reality. I believe you will find the conversation energizing.
Thanks for reading. If you’d like to discuss this or anything else feel free to contact me.
